Valentin Becker Award Gala

A festive premiere of the winning entries in the 32nd Valentin Becker Competition, held by the Franconian Choral Association.

 

Included in the concert was a performance of Kiryà Yefefiyà (2021) by Maureen Nehedar, after two Piyutim by Zechariah al-Dhahiri and Judah Halevi (Choral arrangement by Ohad Stolarz).

Elysium Orchestra and Consort Gala Concert:

Yigdal and Mahler

Yigdal, meaning 'Magnify', is a celebration of Jewish music, literature, and composers, from across a wide range of musical eras, genres, and styles. Elysium Orchestra will finish the concert with Mahler’s mighty Symphony No.1. From the Renaissance influences of Salamone Rossi to the crunchy harmonies of Roxanna Panufnik, this programme, featuring a world premiere, will feature something for everyone, whilst showcasing some of London’s top young musicians.

 

Featuring two choral arrangements by Ohad Stolarz.
